just thought i would give you the best starter kit you can get. I chose body only because zoom lens suck.

with this lens, sure you have to move forward and backward as it is fixed, but the quality of the photos is in a different world.

Camera equipment I use

Current camera equipment I use and short reviews : Nikon d700 , 50 1.4 , 135 / 2, 16-35 vr, 24 1.4 , 85 1.4

Lets start with the nikon d700 ….

I’ve had this camera for two years now , ive dropped it more than a few times and it’s still Alive! It is built like a tank !

The d700 is made of metal and has a great feel to it compared to the nikon d40 and nikon d90 ( still both great cameras) .

The nikon d700 is known as a ‘ mini d3 ‘ . Although the d700 is pretty hefty, the d3 is a giant .

Saying that , I can easily hold the d700 a day with heavy lenses and feel comfortable . Ive also upgraded to a more comfortable magnifying eye piece which is a great move .

All the buttons are easily in reach and having used previous nikons I was straight into firing off shots .

The d700 is a full frame ‘fx, camera ( like a 35 mm film camera ) as opposed to ‘ dx, like the d40 and d90 which has a smaller sensor and view finder . All of these cameras , however, all produce a similar quality image . ( very similar in some cases !)

Owning a full frame camera is immediately advantageous for it’s bigger screen and viewfinder ; just try shooting a dx all day at a wedding and you’ll see the difference .
